Bio
Kate Zelkowitz is a junior at MCLA pursuing a B.A in Communications, with a concentration in Digital Media Innovation and a minor in History. She is the Vice President & Copy Editor for The Beacon, the Executive Producer of BWN, and hosts the weekly radio show "The Magpie" on WJJW, MCLA's college radio station. She is the Executive Producer and Exhibition Coordinator for Verse/Visual, an annual exhibition combining poetry and prose with visual and performing art. She is also a dance teacher and choreographer, with over ten years of dance training in jazz, modern, and ballet. When not out on assignment or in her "editing cave," Kate loves spending time with her two cats and watching baseball. She is also a former specialty espresso barista and makes a mean cup of coffee.
Extended Bio
Kate Zelkowitz is a born-and-raised New Englander, hailing from a small town 45 minutes north of Boston. She graduated from Ipswich High School in May of 2020, before attaining an associates degree in liberal arts from North Shore Community College in the spring of 2022. She is currently a junior at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA), pursuing a B.A in Communications, with a concentration in Digital Media Innovation and a minor in History. She is the Vice President & Copy Editor for The Beacon, the Executive Producer of BWN, and hosts the weekly radio show "The Magpie" on WJJW, MCLA's college radio station. She is also a member of MCLA Athletic's Livecast Production Team.

Outside of her education, Kate is the Executive Producer and Exhibition Coordinator for Verse/Visual, an annual exhibition combining poetry and prose with visual and performing art. With over ten years of dance training in jazz, modern, and ballet from Ipswich Moving Company, Kate is also a dance teacher and choreographer at High Street Studios.

When not out on assignment or in her "editing cave," Kate loves spending time with her two cats and watching baseball. She is also a former specialty espresso barista and makes a mean cup of coffee.
